depression containing plot is like one small depression forming with others a larger, open depression around a dense pocosin-like center to the NW of the plot; center is dense thickets of Rubus, Morella, I. glabra, Persea palustris with overstory of Persea, P. taeda, Q. nigra and Nyssa; dominated by Persea, Pinus and Morella; SE of plot grades from the open, pine and Woodwardia filled area of plot to herbaceous/grassy zone, followed by shrubby zone of Q. pumila, Diospyrus, Liquidambar, Persea, and Clethra; followed by longleaf shrubby pine flatwoods/pine savannah with diverse graminod and herb layer
